RICHARD LUCANIE, M.D.

Dr. Richard Lucanie joined Valley Diagnostic Medical Center in 1993 and presently serves as the Managing Partner. He received his BS Degree from Rutgers University, College of Pharmacy in 1984. He received his Medical Degree from The State University of New York- Downstate in 1988 and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1991. He received Board Certification from the American Academy of Internal Medicine in 1991. He has remained an active member of the Medical Staff at Valley Hospital since 1993 serving as a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee for many years before being named the Chairman of the first Primary Care Committee at Valley Hospital. He then accepted a leadership role in the creation of Valley Hospital’s Accountable Care Organization which has since grown to over 500 Physicians. He became a Medical Director at Valley Hospital, representing Valley Hospital on the ACO Boards of Atlantic Health Systems and Holy Name Hospital, held a position on the Horizon Blue Cross & Blue Shield Advisory Board, and is a Regional Medical Director of Partners in Care, a state wide Independent Physicians Association of 500+ physicians. Dr. Lucanie was also honored to have achieved the highest ranking for Valley Hospital’s ACO Quality Awards for both 2020 and 2021.

STEVEN L. NICKLES, D.O., FACOFP

Dr. Steven Nickles joined Valley Diagnostic Medical Center as a partner in 1997. He received his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa in 1987. He completed his residency at Union Hospital in 1989. He received his Fellowship in Family Practice in 2010. Dr. Nickles is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, was past president of the NJ Chapter of the American College of Osteopathic Family Practitioners, and is past Vice President of the Bergen-Passaic Osteopathic Medical Society. He was the Associate Director of the Department of Family Practice at Valley Hospital, served on the Infection Control and Quality Assurance committees and remains an active staff member of The Valley Hospital. Dr. Nickles continues to hold the position of Ramsey High School Physician since 1994.

ANABEL LUCANIE, M.D.

Dr. Anabel Lucanie joined Valley Diagnostic Medical Center in 1995. She received her Medical Degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 1986. She went on to complete an Internship in Pathology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1987 followed by completing her Internal Medicine Residency Program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1990. She was awarded Board Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1994. She was honored to have achieved the highest ranking for Valley Hospital’s Accountable Care Organization’s Quality Award in 2019. Dr. Lucanie remains an active member of the Staff at Valley Hospital and is dedicated to the care of her patients, taking a special interest in Women’s Health Issues. She is also very proud of her medical volunteer work through the Bergen Volunteer Medical Initiative and is fluent in Spanish.

MYLADIS REYES, M.D.

Dr. Myladis Reyes is joining Valley Diagnostic Medical Center in the Fall of 2023. She received her Medical Degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe in 2018 and completed her Internship & Residency at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in NYC in 2021. She was awarded Board Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 2021. Dr Reyes has since been practicing Internal Medicine with an Albany Medical Center affiliated Medical Group in Albany New York. She is fluent in Spanish and brings with her a special interest in Women’s Health Issues.

ALEXANDER T. GADDI, FNP

Alexander Gaddi joined Valley Diagnostic Medical Center in 2023 with years of experience as a nurse for Hackensack Meridian Health. He is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who earned his degree at the Ramapo College of New Jersey.
